So, if you choose that option, huge, huge THANK YOU for your support, I can keep making my crochet patterns thanks to you 🙂
But, you can also decide to follow the bag crochet pattern directly on my blog, so let’s get started !
Some notes before starting
- Read the bag crochet pattern completely before you start and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or feedbacks, I will be happy to answer them ( contact me : here )
- For a result similar to the original bag, it is important to read the crochet pattern at each step so as not to skip instructions given for a specific row. The model requires careful counting of rows and stitches.
- Also, don’t hesitate to contact me here if you notice any mistake in the tutorial, thank you
- The numbers placed in parentheses correspond to the number of stitches to have when finishing the row. This allows you to know if it was done correctly. If you have more than the number indicated, it means that you have added stitches. Conversely, if you lack it, you have forgotten it.
- The letters (a,b,c…) at the end of sentences correspond to the pictures.
- When it is indicated “classic finish “, it means: Cut the thread and pass it through the loop to make a knot.
- When it is indicated ‘’ invisible finish‘’, it means : Cut the thread, pass it through the loop to make a knot and then, create a ‘’ fake stitch ‘’ to make it invisible. ( please refer to this video : here )
Dimensions in inches ( length x width x height including the handles )

List of supplies
The use of different supplies from that indicated may vary the final rendering. You don’t have to use the same brand of yarn but the gauge has to be the same for a similar result.
!! UPDATE !! : Unfortunately, the yarn used to make the initial teddy beige bag was discontinued so I had to remove it from the pattern. I made a new bag ( turned out a little bit bigger ) with a different sherpa yarn ( the details are in the pattern ). The yarns for the others bags are still available.
- Crochet hook : 12 mm from this set : here
- Yarns ( click on the color to be linked to Amazon. No link means that I bought at the yarn Joann, Michaels or Hobby Lobby ). Also, as long as the weight category is respected, you can pick the yarn ball of the brand you prefer ( the result will be similar in term of proportions ).

Main part
( Don’t forget to use both indicated yarn at the same time )
I will be using stitch markers to make the stitches more visible and the pattern more clear, you don’t have to do the same. However if you are beginner, it might help a lot to use the stitch markers 🙂
R0 : 12 ch + 1 turning ch* (a)
Turn your work, turning ch becomes first stitch (1) of the row, SKIP ch 12 and start crocheting in ch 11 of R0 (b).
R1 : 1 sc in each stitch (12) + 1 turning ch
R2 > R31 : Same as R1 ( 30 rows )
On R31, don’t make a turning ch at the end of the row.
Then, make 1 sl in each stitch along the 2 edges marked in pink and 1 sc in each stitch along the 2 edges marked in green.
It will create a ‘’ frame’’. Classic finish. (c)

Tag
Start by printing this tag :
- Place a dark T-shirt Transfer Sheet in your printer ( only work with inkjet printers )
- Click here to download the tag. Click on the printer icon, make sure the scale is 100% and select the paper size according to the transfer sheet you bought ( mine are ‘’ Letter Size ‘’ ). Then, print-it.
- Once printed cut it out.
On a piece of black fabric, draw a rectangle of 4 by 3 inches. Then, cut it out (a). Place the tag in the middle of the fabric.
Follow the instructions given by the transfer sheet notice to stick it to the fabric (b).
Once this is done, fold the top and bottom of the tag inwards so that only a thin line of fabric is visible.
With a sewing needle and black thread, sew 4 little stitches to make sure the fold stay in place (c).
Assembly
Now, with a darning needle and white cotton thread, sew the Bottom on the back side of the Main Part, right in the middle. To make sure it’s well positioned, the parts indicated by the arrows of the same color should be the same length (a).
Then, turn the work over to the other side and position the handles as on the picture (b). Make sure not to twist them. And sew following the arrows ( Try to make the bottom of the bag as flat as possible) (c).
Make little ‘’sticks’’ of stuffing and slide them under the handles where indicated by the arrows (d). It will create a quilted effect.
Then sew following the arrows (e). Make sure not to sew the other side because we have to integrate the tag first.
- Now, place the tag where indicated in the picture and pin it (a). I added some craft glue to keep it place but you don’t have to.
- Then sew by following the arrows (b), all around the fabric frame including on the handle part to block the stuffing ( do not sew directly on the vinyl part, only on the fabric (c) ).
- Then, with white cotton thread, finish sewing to the top to block all the stuffing (d).
- Turn the work over to the other side and place a stick of stuffing on the inside of the handle (e). With white cotton yarn, make a knot 1 inch away from the start of the handle (e) and sew to block the stuffing (f). It will create a little roll. Stop sewing 1 inch away from the other side.
- Finally, do the same thing for the second handle.
Now, fold the side and sew it to the gusset (a,b,c).
Do the same thing for the other gousset.
Attach the strap of your choice (d).
