  • Read this pumpkin psice lattern free crochet pattern completely before you start and if you have any questions or feedback, I will be happy answer them ( contact me : here )
  • The use of different supplies from that indicated may vary the final rendering. You don’t have to use the same brand of yarn but the gauge has to be the same for a similar result.
  • I used fuzzy yarn doubled with chenille yarn to crochet for the whipped cream. However, if you are not comfortable with fuzzy yarn you can crochet the chenille yarn by itself.
  • For a result similar to the original plushie, it is important to read each step of the pattern carefully so you don’t skip instructions given for a specific row (or round). The model requires careful counting of rows and stitches.
  • Also, don’t hesitate to contact me at crochetpinkpumpkin@gmail.com if you notice any mistakes in the tutorial, thank you
  • Check the size of the hook indicated at the top left of each page.
  • The numbers placed in parentheses correspond to the number of stitches to have when finishing the row or round. This allows you to know if it was done correctly. If you have more than the number indicated, it means that you have added stitches. Conversely, if you have less than the indicated amount you may have skipped stitches.
  • The letters (a,b,c…) at the end of sentences correspond to the pictures.
  • Avoid waste by mixing your cut threads with the stuffing.

Dimensions

  • The Pumpkin Spice Latte measures approx. 11 inches high and 6.5 inches wide.
  • The size of your latte can differ according to the tightness of your stitches.
  • The use of different supplies from that indicated in the pumpkin spice latte free crochet pattern may vary the final rendering. You don’t have to use the same brand of yarn but the weight category and hook size have to be the same for a similar result ( in term of proportion ).

Difficulty, stitches and techniques used

  • If you are a crochet beginner with chenille yarn and want to make Yoshi, I suggest you to watch my video ‘’ start crocheting chenille yarn ‘’ : here

Cup holder

Hook 7mm
Brown chenille yarn

A turning chain (tc) will be used at the end of each row to
turn your work and start a new row. Do not crochet in it.

Ro0 : 9 ch
Skip the first ch and start crocheting in the 2nd ch from the hook.
Ro1 : 1 sc in each ch (8) + 1 tc
Ro2 : 1 sc in each stitch (8) + 1 tc

Repeat Ro2 until the cup holder can almost fully wrap around the cup (a).
Then, make 1 sc in each stitch along the 3 edges indicated by the arrows (b).
Classic finish. Keep approx. 15” of yarn, we will use it to sew both ends of the cup holder together.

Decor on the cup holder

For the decor, you can pick one of these two 2 options :

Face

Place the safety eyes approx. 2.5 in” apart.

With pink chenille yarn and a darning needle, embroider 2 cheeks under the eyes. Pass the chenille yarn twice in the same stitch to make the cheeks thicker.

With the thin black cotton thread and a darning needle, embroider the smile in the middle of the eyes. First, create the entire line with the thread. Then, pull that line down a row to create an arc. To make it stay in place sew a very small stitch at the bottom of the smile (has to be almost invisible) (a).

Hook 7mm

R0 : magic ring
R1 : 6 sc in the magic ring (6)

Place the little green stem (green acrylic yarn) where you didn’t make increases (a) and attach it as shown in the pictures (b,c,d). Now, sew it in the center of the cup holder (e).

.

Whipped cream

Hook 7mm
White fuzzy yarn doubled with white chenille yarn.
If you are not comfortable with fuzzy yarn you can crochet
the chenille yarn by itself.

I suggest you to insert a stitch marker in the first stitch of
each row to avoid missing stitches.

Ro0 : 15 ch
Skip the first ch and start crocheting in the 2nd ch from the hook.
Ro1 : 1 sc in each ch (14)
For the rest of the whipped cream : Do not make a tc, simply turn your work and start crocheting in the first stitch from the hook.
Ro2 : BLO, 1 inc, 11 sc, 1 dec (14)
Ro3 : BLO, 1 dec, 11 sc, 1 inc (14)

This is what the ribs will look like after few rows with fuzzy yarn (a) and without fuzzy yarn (b)

Repeat Ro2 and Ro3 until the whipped cream measures 30” (c). Then, classic finish.

c

Embroider sprinkles with yellow and orange chenille yarn (a).

Then, place stuffing as shown in the picture (b) and fold it in half horizontally. You can use sewing clips to keep it folded. With white cotton yarn, sew along the edge following the clips. Don’t forget to sew the ends as well (c) so the stuffing doesn’t come out.

b

Wrap the whipped cream on itself and sew it to create this shape (a). I used wooden spikes to hold it in place while sewing (you can also use knitting needles) and I passed the cotton thread from bottom to top several times.
The whipped cream is ready (b).

Cinnamon Sticks (x2)

Hook 7mm
Brown chenille yarn

Ro0 : 5 ch
Skip the first ch and start crocheting in the 2nd ch from the hook.
Ro1 : 1 sc in each ch (4)
For the rest of the cinnamon roll: Do not make a tc, simply turn your work and start crocheting in the first stitch from the hook.
Ro2 – R04 : 1 sc in each ch (4) (3 rows)

Classic finish and keep 15” of yarn (a). Fold it in half and sew both ends together to create a tube. Don’t cut the remaining threads, we will use them to attach the cinnamon rolls to the whipped cream (b).

Assembly

Wrap the cup holder around the cup and use the 15” of yarn to sew both ends together. Sew the rest with white cotton thread.

Use the back loops of R26 to sew the whipped cream to the cup

Sew the cinnamon sticks on the whipped cream.
