Hi dear Pumpkin ! I hope you had a wonderful week and a lot of crochet projects for this week-end ! Today, I will teach you one of the most useful technique to make adorable amigurumis. It is how to connect legs seamlessly. Because I don’t like sewing parts together, I use this no sewing joining leg method everytime I crochet a plushie with legs ( or feet lol ), for example my Among Us plushie.
You will get a clean result without having to sew the legs to the body, that is why I LOVE using this technique ! Let’s start 😃
Step 1 : Make leg 1 and leg 2. Cut the thread of leg 1 and finish off . Do not finish off leg 2.
Also, little secret : if you crochet leg 2 a little higher than leg 1 with one more round, they will be balanced
Step 2 : Make 3 chain stitch after finishing the last round of leg 2.
Step 3 : Choose a random stitch on the last round of leg 1 and slip your hook in.
Step 4 : Make a single crochet in this Leg 1’s random stitch. Try to tight it well to make the legs go closer. Because that would be the first stitch of your new round, don’t forget to add your marker. Your amigurumi’s legs are now connected.
Step 5 : Now, single crochet all around Leg 1. If your initial leg has, for example, 18 stitches all around, then make 17 single crochet. If your leg had 12 stitches, then make 11 single crochet …
Step 6 : You arrived at the chain, visualize the 3 external loops on this chain stitches. Make a single crochet in each of them so, 3 single crochet.
Step 7 : Now, single crochet all around Leg 2. If your initial leg has, for example, 18 stitches all around, then make 18 single crochet. If your leg had 12 stitches, then make 12 single crochet …
Step 8 : You are now on the other side of the chain. Visualize the 3 external loops and make a single crochet in each of them so, 3 single crochet.
You are back at the stitch marker, the two legs are now connected and you can keep crocheting the rounds as usual.
